Men's Mental Health

You don't have to carry it
by yourself.

Men are less likely to seek help for depression and anxiety, and more likely to show it as irritability or overwork instead of sadness. Our providers know how to spot it and help you build a plan that works.

What it is

Depression and anxiety
don't always look like sadness.

In men, depression and anxiety often show up as anger, irritability, risk-taking, or throwing yourself into work to avoid sitting with how you feel. Rates of diagnosis are lower for men, but rates of suicide are higher, a gap that points to underreporting rather than a real difference in how often these conditions occur. Treatment is built around your specific presentation, whatever form it's taking.

Why it matters

Asking for help is a sign
of strength, not the absence of it.

Men are diagnosed with depression at lower rates than women, but die by suicide at a much higher rate, a gap that reflects underreporting more than a real difference in how often these conditions occur. The sooner it's addressed, the more manageable it tends to be.

01

Men are less likely to seek help

Stigma and expectations around self-reliance keep many men from reaching out until symptoms are already severe.

02

Symptoms often look different

Anger, risk-taking, and substance use are common presentations of depression and anxiety in men, and easy to miss or misread.

03

Early treatment changes the trajectory

Addressing symptoms sooner tends to mean an easier path forward, and a lower risk of things escalating.

How we help

Support built around
how you'd rather talk about it.

Symptoms don't always show up as sadness. Our approach treats the whole person, including how mood intersects with sleep, work stress, and physical health.

Comprehensive evaluation

Your first visit covers your history and how symptoms show up for you, whether that's mood, anger, sleep, or something else entirely.

Thoughtful medication management

If medication is part of your plan, we monitor and adjust it together, with regular check-ins along the way.

Whole-person care

Because our providers are dual-certified in mental health and chronic illness, your mood and conditions like hypertension or insomnia can be addressed by the same clinician.

The same provider, every visit

You'll see the same clinician each time. No re-explaining your story, no starting over.

What we treat

Care that sees
the rest of you, too.

Mental health symptoms often show up alongside other conditions. Because our providers are dual-certified, both can be treated in the same place.

What we don't treat

Active psychosis, active suicidal ideation with a plan, and substance use disorders require a higher level of in-person care than we can safely provide by telehealth. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Continuity of care

The same provider,
every time you log in.

You won't retell your story to a new face every visit. You'll be matched with a dual board-certified provider who gets to know your history and what's helping, and who stays with you as your care evolves.

Common questions

Answers to what
people usually ask.

How do I know if it's depression or just stress?
Stress usually fades once the source of it does. If low mood, irritability, or loss of interest sticks around for more than a couple of weeks, or starts affecting work and relationships, it's worth getting evaluated.
Will I need medication?
Not necessarily. Some people manage with therapy alone, others benefit from medication, and many use a combination of both. Your provider will walk through the options and build a plan around what fits your life.
What if I'm not comfortable talking about feelings?
You don't need the right words to start. A lot of men come in describing symptoms like sleep problems, anger, or low energy rather than emotions, and that's a completely workable starting point.
What if I need more support than telehealth can offer?
If your provider determines you need a higher level of care, such as for active psychosis, active suicidal ideation with a plan, or substance use, they'll help connect you to appropriate in-person resources. If you're in crisis right now, call or text 988 or go to your nearest emergency room.
